For sale this is a beautiful antique sideboard or dinning table centre-piece marked Liberty, silver-plated comport and candlestick dinning set with applied red cabochon decoration.
- Liberty stamped to base of all three pieces, as a matching set marked as pattern number 4521 from circa 1920-25 in an Arts & Crafts into Modernism style leading to Art Deco.
- The compote (used for serving dessert, fruit, nuts or sweets) has a flat pedestal base marked Liberty and 4521 pressed into the base outside edge. The pedestal has sculpted concave sides meeting the base of the wide shallow bowl with ten individually applied deep red cabochons (from agate/carnelian or glass) around the edge.
- The candlesticks as a pair are formed from a square base with a curved design to an angular double incised step as a collar before the candlestick rim. On each of the four sides they also have individually applied red cabochons to match and reflect the design on the centre-piece Liberty comport. The candlesticks are also marked Liberty and also show identify pattern number 4521.
- Green baize covering to the base of all three as shown in the photographs for use on a sideboard or dinning table.
W&W Antiques also have available two serving dishes from this design series marked Liberty in matching red cabochons and silver pate. These are shown in the last three images alongside a Liberty & Co. Tudric Champagne cooler also available. Please contact us for information on combined postage.
