For sale are a charming pair of English ecclesiastical hassocks / kneelers / prayer stools with needlework covering, decorated with a Fleur de Lys.

- A pair of rectangular oak framed Gothic prayer stools, from the early 19th Century, the backstory being from a Lancashire church via an 80 year period in Malmo, Sweden since the 1940s.

- Quality oak framed and heavy / robust framed construction, sitting on raised and turned bun feet, with a stuffed needlework covering, one stool has the original stuffing, which looks like straw and the other has been replaced at some point in their long 200 year history as shown in the up-turned photograph.

- The Fleur de Lys decoration is matching in style on a rich red needlework background, but the colour used for the detail differs between the two stools from green and orange, but it is hard to distinguish at first glance.

A charming pair of stools in a highly decorative style and of a high quality construction from the early 19th century.
