For sale are two Swedish 'folk art' bold geometric patterned, antique textile cushions from the early 20th Century c.1900-1940s which have been re-filled/stuffed.
- The beautiful geometric patterned antique woven front textile in red, black and light green is over a linen backing to the front piece and repeats an attractive pattern throughout both. These materials would have likely been from a larger coverlet, runner or bed throw.
- The reverse grey material would have been selected deliberately as a harder wearing backing in a stiffer grey wool material with stripes in reds/blue and yellow.
- The antique material outers have had the old original loose hen's feather stuffing removed entirely, cleaned, conserved and replaced with a modern feather cushion pad to save/conserve the textiles for further decorative use. The original hens feather stuffing pad was flat/compressed/escaping and offering no support.
