For sale is a highly decorative Swedish wall mirror in the Empire style from circa 1890-1910, late 19th or early 20th Century.
- Decoration in gold over a background of muted blue paint to the decorative floral swags in relief. Decorated blue sections to the top and bottom of the mirror framing the classic shape capped with cornice at the top and base. The mirror style and decoration is French in origin adopted in Sweden and Europe in the early 19th Century and reproduced ever since as an ornate style originally arriving from the Napoleonic influences of Empire around 1800-1815.
- The mirror sits within a wide bevelled frame in the centre of the three sections.
- The mirror has been replaced at some stage judging by the backing with later paint..
- The sectional frame is solid in construction and is in good antique condition, ready to be hung and used.
