For sale is a stunning Glasgow Style Brass Planter attributed to Marion Henderson Wilson (1869-1956).

- An attractive cylindrical-form mounted with two loop handles, repousse and hammered body, sitting on four elegant raised, integrated bracket feet.
- High quality art metalwork indicative of Marion Henderson Wilson, repoussé-decorated with stylised inter-twinned foliage, including characteristic repoussé Celtic roses, thorn branches and heart shaped leaves. All over a highly hand hammered backdrop.
- Marked MHW, which appears to show the same viewed either way up.

Marion Henderson Wilson is considered as one of the “Glasgow Girls”, and attended the Glasgow School of Art around 1884-1896. She was an award winning artist at national and local competitions and was also a regular exhibitor at the Glasgow Society Lady Artists’ Club. Her speciality was mainly in metalwork; repousse brass copper and tin, all very much in her own distinctive Glasgow Style.
