- The sampler has a lovely floral repeat pattern border in a light blue, this frames the central "In Memory of" frieze with a pair of bright matching trumpeting cherub angels, trees, weeping willows and bouquets.
- The text identifies:
"In memory of Betty Hardy, who departed this life January 22 1851 Aged 37 years."
