For sale are a beautiful pair of 19th century high quality Gothic Revival brass three light candelabra from circa 1870-1895.

- The heavy and robust ecclesiastical candelabra with urn shaped nozzles have some beautiful decorative details throughout in the gothic revival manner of the second half of the 19th Century.

- They are well constructed and solid/weighty providing a very stable base for the three candlesticks.

- The branched candelabra design is similar to one of the modular design elements illustrated by the John Hardman & Co catalogue (bottom right), suppliers of church furniture / hardware and metalwork designs for both A.W and E.W Pugin in the mid 1880's.

- The candelabra are supported on a tapered cylindrical column with architectural scroll spandrels. These are raised on tapered square plinths which in turn are raised on pierced trefoil corner bracket feet.

- The candelabra have some lovely design details throughout, in particular around the branch, the supporting brackets, the top of the square pedestal and the corner bracket feet. These are of good quality and the intricate and different elements individually would have been costly to produce to this quality.

The pair are ready to be used in any decorative environment and provide continued service, a testament to their design and construction at c.135 years of age.
