For sale is a charming Victorian period, whisky tot measure in thistle form and an engraved hand blown drinking glass c.1871-1899

- Both items are marked with mottos in Scots 'A wee drappie' on the metal thistle tot and 'Tak a wee drappie' on the drinking glass

- The thistle whisky tot is by Lee & Wigful of Sheffield a recognised maker and is of Electro plated Britannia metal from circa 1871-1899, it is in solid condition with one small indentation to the rim, but to of little consequence to its charm.  The decoration around the tot is hand punched and their are small flowers marked between the words and around the base section of the thistle.

- The hand blown (air bubbles / imperfections) througout and etched drinking glass has a naive folk art charm and the Scottish decorative fern has been hand etched into one side and the drinking motto on the other for taking a wee drappie or small drop of intoxicating liquor (whisky).... as the first verse of the traditional Scottish song below outlines:

A Wee Drappie O't

This life is a journey we a' hae to gang,
And care is the burden we carry alang;
Though heavy be the burden and poverty our lot,
We'll be happy a' thegither owre a wee drappie o't.

Available for future use or decorative amusement.
