For sale is an attractive and decorative vernacular salt / spoon / candle box from the second half of the 19th Century

- A good square shape with decorative Georgian style curved back plate with wall hanging hole likely stained Birch.
- Warm honey coloured stain/varnish and simple construction sitting on a graduated bevel edge Base
- Square shape and good storage capacity for this vernacular storage container often used as wall hanging or dresser/table mounted for utility containing salt / horn spoons, wooden spoons, cutlery, candles or other kitchenalia in the main room of the house, possibly Scottish in Origin.
- In good antique condition, old evidence of holes possibly for lid / salt storage.
