Available for sale from W&W Antiques is a beautiful and highly decorative late 18th Century Multan ware earthenware platter c. 1780 - 1820.
- Characteristic decoration from Multan, Northern India / present day Pakistan, the type of bold decoration that influenced designers in the Aesthetic and Arts & Crafts Movement like William De Morgan.
- Careful and complex hand decorated with a striking turquoise blue foliate pattern and surrounded with a continuous arched / architectural design pattern as decoration to the edge or rim (reminiscent of Mughal, Jharokha arches in Northern India / Pakistan)
- In solid antique condition with not cracks.  The rim to this earthenware piece akin to Dutch and English Delft pottery has some glaze losses / nibbles, either caused by a plate hanger or a life of utility.  These do not affect the decorative nature or utility of the piece and have been recoloured by a previous owner as shown in the images of the edge / rim
- A beautiful and striking terracotta / earthenware glazed charger or shallow round platter on a raised foot with bold and tasteful colour palette.

Ready to provide beautiful antique decoration in a new home.
